NF LINK
OBJECTIVE For this project, the objective was to create an app that would be available on the phone, allowing people who have neurofibromatosis (NF) to have access to information on the disorder and to be able to find where they can get access to specialists & where they are located and get in contact with them and visit for care.
SOLUTION For the idea of my design, I created the app for NF Link through Adobe XD. When first starting, creating a web map of what pages were needed and which pages would link to another was crucial. With that in mind, the layout and design of the app pages was then formed, which led to having a simple, clean, and more rounded design to be made. The main focus on the app was to provide easily understood information on NF and being able to connect with a specialist that knows about NF, so, that brought about the number of pages that would be needed. The decision behind the color was going off the official/not official colors of neurofibromatosis, green and blue.

BEHIND THE BRAND
“Neurofibromatoses are a group of genetic disorders that cause tumors to form on nerve tissue. These tumors can develop anywhere in the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and nerves. There are three types of neurofibromatosis: neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1), neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) and schwannomatosis.” - Mayo Clinic
The main idea of the app was to help inform individuals who have neurofibromatosis (NF) or know someone who has it about the genetic disorder. The app could also be used to help find places of care as well for neurofibromatosis and connect, to “link,” with specialists. With that in mind, the name “NF Link” came to mind, but the issue was, what could a logo look like? After narrowing it down, as NF affects the whole body, I decided to stick with a genetic and DNA look, keeping the idea of genetics. Then a connection was made! Two chain links looked similar to part of a DNA strand, all that was needed was a few little additions, the two little bars within each link. Supporting “Link” in ‘NF Link.’
