TSUBASA CHRONICLE
TRAVEL POSTERS
OBJECTIVE For this project, the objective was to create a series/set of four designs within the same media about something we were passionate about. The set needed to clearly show our intention for the project, working conceptually and visually as a series.
SOLUTION For my designs, I chose to create a set of four 24”x36” posters, themed on travel kind of posters. The idea of each of the posters was to illustrate an image that related to four out of the thirty-three worlds from the manga and anime series, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, a favorite series of mine. Each world also correlated to the homeworld of the main characters. The posters were created in Illustrator, using multiple layers to help give color, depth, and texture. An example of this would be in the ‘Clow’ poster, each ripple of sand uses three layers.
When illustrating the images, I mostly used images from the manga to help guide how each turned out, but turned to the few shots from the anime to help guide the colors. Upon completion, the names of the worlds were added to the bottom.

MOKONA WITH MEMORY FEATHER
As for what happens in the series, I was originally going to hide a feather within each poster, blending it in with its surroundings, whether by changing its colors or adding texture. In the end, I decided to keep the posters as they were, allowing them to work with the series worlds, as not all worlds held a feather.
This little magical critter, Mokona, is the group’s “mascot.” She is able to sense the presence of the feathers or powerful magic. The illustration here was just extra done for fun to add to the collection, as it didn’t work in the posters.
